Method
- Mix the dry ingredients — In a large bowl, stir together the whole wheat flour, oats, parsley, and mint until evenly combined.
- Combine the wet ingredients — In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted coconut oil, egg, and water. Pour into the dry mixture and stir until a cohesive dough forms. If crumbly, add water a teaspoon at a time until it holds together without being sticky.
- Roll out and cut — Lightly flour your work surface and roll dough to about ¼-inch thickness. Cut with bone-shaped cookie cutters (use mini cutters for smaller dogs).
- Bake until golden — Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and bake 25–30 minutes, until golden brown and crisp.
- Cool and serve — Let cool completely before serving the texture hardens as it cools, giving that satisfying, teeth-cleaning crunch.
Notes
Use fresh herbs whenever possible they contain more essential oils, giving stronger breath-freshening power.
A slightly firm dough bakes into crisper, crunchier treats ideal for gently cleaning your dog's teeth.
For smaller dogs, use mini cutters they bake faster and are easier to portion.
Storage: airtight container at room temperature up to 2 weeks, or refrigerate/freeze for longer storage they thaw quickly and keep their crunch.
Serving tip: offer a few times a week after meals for consistent breath and dental benefits.
No artificial preservatives, sweeteners, or fillers just parsley, mint, oats, and whole wheat flour.
