Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour or oat flour for gluten-free
  • ½ cup natural peanut butter unsalted and unsweetened (no xylitol)
  • ¼ cup chicken broth low-sodium
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp olive oil optional, for moisture and shine

Method

  1. Mix wet ingredients — Whisk together peanut butter, egg, and olive oil until smooth.
  2. Add dry ingredients — Stir in flour, then gradually add broth until a soft, rollable (not sticky) dough forms.
  3. Roll and cut — Roll dough to ¼ inch thick on a floured surface; cut into shapes, re-rolling scraps as needed.
  4. Bake — Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C); bake 18–22 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Optional crisping — Turn off oven and leave treats inside an extra 10 minutes for added crunch.
  6. Cool — Cool completely on a rack before serving or storing.
  7. Storage: Airtight container at room temp up to 7 days, refrigerated up to 3 weeks, or frozen up to 3 months.
  8. Note: Treats should make up no more than 10% of your dog's daily calorie intake.

Notes

These treats are meant as an occasional reward, not a meal replacement. Keep total treats to no more than 10% of your dog's daily calorie intake, and always use unsweetened, xylitol-free peanut butter and low-sodium broth without onion or garlic.
